30/04 - Manaus

- The best ones, Kath and Basile.

29/04 - Presidente Figueiredo/Amazônia

This morning we woke up, had breakfast, packed our suitcases and left the hotel at 8:30 in the morning. We drove two hours to Manaus and visited three local markets. One of them was full of bananas, another sold vegetables and fish, the last one had artisanal gifts. Afterwards we visited a supermarket to buy everything we might need on the boat. Then we had the opportunity to have lunch at the shopping mall and buy some other stuff. At 4 we drove to our new hotel and settled in. The hotel is huge and has a beautiful pool where we swam for a few hours. For supper we went to a restaurant at a fancy hotel. We ate a lot of food from the buffet. While we ate some of the locals showed us their traditional dances. After the show they encouraged to join in and dance along, then we took some pictures and headed to the hotel for the night. We got to our daily meeting and celebrated the birthday of two of the girls, Nikoline and Annika with a big cake. Finally we had free time to play chess, cards, pool and to just hang out.

28/04 - Presidente Figueiredo

28/04 - Presidente Figueiredo

The 28th of April, the second day of the trip had, a slow start for most of us because we were tired from the activities of yesterday. We entered a bus, listened to “Tiny meat gang podcast”, meanwhile the others were listening to Stanley (coordinator), singing Taylor Swift hits in Portuguese, as you can imagine no one had the chance to sleep, in this 2 hour bus ride. We went on a hike in the Amazon rainforest, we saw some waterfalls and visited a cave, with a big amount of bat shit, and some big ass spiders (maybe ya’all hear about this tomorrow). After that we went to another waterfall where everyone with a “GoPro” flexed on all us broke guys. Then we went to play some football and after that we went to the pool, got dinner, had a meeting, and got forced to write this.

27/04 - Presidente Figueiredo

27/04 - Presidente Figueiredo
Today, the 27th of April, was our first day of the trip. We all met at the airport at 2am, where we went by bus to the hotel, and arrived at 5am. After 3 hours of sleep, we had breakfast and left for our first activity. We arrived at a super cute lake, where we had lunch. After that we had the opportunity to swim in the lake, which had both pink dolphins and piranhas in it. The water was super warm but unclear. Furthermore, we visited CPPMA, which is a recovery center that saves animals in need and puts them back into the wild life of the Amazon. At the center they had a lot of parrots, manatees and turtles that we got to see. The last activity of the day took place at the rapids of a beautiful river. Some of us put a lot of effort into crossing the river and you could even use the rapid as a little slide. We finished the day with a delicious dinner at our hotel in the middle of the Amazon forest, which has no connection with the outside world. Here we enjoyed the rest of our night together. Even tho that at a sudden moment all the electricity of the area fell out, and left us in the complete darkness.
Então nos vivemos felizes para sempre.

Written with love, Big Guy & Nikoline.
